Welcome to issue number 9 of the Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition, marking 5 years of service to the esoteric community. As befitting of a 5th anniversary edition, this issue of the Journal focuses on the "Royal Art": Alchemy. The first article focuses on the mysterious and allegorical art employed in many alchemical texts. The second is a recounting of the spagyric work of our very own Alex Sumner.

We at the Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition would like to thank our readers and contributors for five wonderful years. Here is looking forward to another wonderful five, starting with issue number 10: Grimoires. This next issue will also complete the first volume of the JWMT.
